My Favorite Snacks

1. I love to make up a plate of sliced apples with some mild cheddar or monterey jack cut into small chunks. I add wheat thins, and there you have it....sweet,protein and crunch.

2. Between meals if I get hungry, I'll carry a string cheese, an apple and a small baggie with a handful of walnuts. It kills the hungries.

3. A spoonful of peanut butter.

4. Frozen grapes.

5. Popcorn

6. Handful of almonds.

7. Multigrain pretzels.

8. Jello

9. Trail mix of banana chips, pretzel sticks, walnuts, cranberry-raisins and granola.

10. Hot tea with a nice piece of dark chocolate or dark chocolate covered almonds.

The Tough Times

Hello my dialysis friends,

I have a confession to make. I just don't feel like going to dialysis anymore. Yep, you heard me, I don't wanna go. What a drag. I guess I am in a rut. You know the kind, where you feel like.....crap. I've had alot of drama lately, work has been tough, summer is over and I never even enjoyed it. Cold, dark, lonely winter is fast approaching.

It is very easy to be happy and brave when everything is going good. The tough times show us what we are really made of. If we fold when the hard times fall, what does that say about us?

What I have to do, is dig down deep, find my center,my faith, and decide if I still have a fight in me. We can't be quitters when things are down. Depression is a battle.
It seeks to destroy lives.

There is a hero living inside of you, that will fight the good fight....let's show everybody what we are made of. Love,Jodi

Movie Time

Hello all my friends,

Being on dialysis means trying to occupy yourself with other things, since many hours are spent at the machine or other related medical activities. I always enjoy loosing myself in a good book or a blockbuster of a movie. Unfortunately, Hollywood has let us down.Anyone with $20,000 in their pocket can make a movie, that will actually end up in your local theater. Worthy of the price of admission? I think not. There are some sleepers out there, and I will try to clue you in.

I just saw Burn After Reading. Brad Pitt. John Malkovich. The lady from Fargo, that is from Pittsburgh.
Dark,strange,dramedy,(dramatic-comedy).Loved it.Second time around is even better.
I say watch it twice. The casting is really good. I rate it 2 happy meals and an apple pie. See you at the movies.......Jodi
