I'm pissed

Hello
I must say what's on my mind. I get sicker and sicker of seeing 95+ people starting dialysis. It breaks my heart to hear these poor elderly folks crying," why am I here or what are you doing to me or where am I?" What is wrong with the families of these people. Do they really want them to suffer, to keep them here? I don't know. In order to let the families off the hook, these greedy Doctors need to let go too, but they can't.....they are blinded by dollar signs.

By the time we live to be 90 something years old, I would pretty much bet things are gonna slow down or stop working....wouldn't you?

These poor old people,These selfish families,These money grubbin doctors....nobody wins. The Doctors are laughin all the way to the bank, but their also going to have to answer to God. It takes a real heartless person to put someone through this for financial gain. It pisses me off and makes me sick.

It will never happen to me because when I say I've had enough......I'm done..... and the Doctors can eat dirt!

You are what you eat

Hello my dialysis friends. I hope the summer is working well for you. I hope you are safely enjoying all the wonderful festival, fair, picnic, and summer foods.

Remember when you are a dialysis patient "you are what you eat". I see people everyday who come in for their treatments who have overdrank and overate. Next thing I know, they are puking up their guts and cramping. Miserable, miserable, miserable. They do it over and over again. One time for me is all I need.

Sure, I love food and I love to eat, but come on people get real. Eat until you are 80% full and stop. Don't drink too much. I know it's hard but you can do it. If you are a beer drinker, I suggest you get on the wagon completely. You cannot be a dialysis patient and drink beer. You will be dead in a year. Stop smoking too.

Clean all the junk out of your body. Sugar, smoke, alcohol, unnecessary pills, processed foods, fast food, and caffeine. Fill up on nutrient rich food and drink water. Eat food God made. You'll sleep better, poop better and live longer.

Luv Ya, Jodi

Hot Dog

Hello my friends

I did not get a hot dog for the fourth and I am really bummed. I ate a Wendy's hamburger, did not picnic and was really bummed. Not a good holiday for me.

I did see some great fireworks and enjoyed some fun time with friends.

I missed my hot dog over a real charcoal grill. I may have to do some grillin today.

All my love, good thoughts, and prayers......Jodi

Arm Update

Hello my dialysis friends,

I had to go and have my arm checked. They ran the dye in and low and behold the doctor said it was anatomically perfect. He could see nothing wrong with it. I was so happy.

The design of my arm makes a sharp hairpin turn under my left armpit. I have a gortex graft. I think the faster bloodflow on the machine makes me have a little discomfort.

I had the girls slow me down from a 350 bloodflow to 300. It really seems to help. I'm sure many of you run at a 500 or more, but I've always went for a kinder, gentler treatment. You know I have been doing this a long time, so this is the secret to my longevity. I also do not do reuse. It's not for me.

Things went well, but I did have a reaction to the dye. I am allergic to many things, this being one of them. Next time I will have to take some steroids and benedril.

Take care of that access. It is the most vital aspect of dialysis. Don't mess around, I mean it! If you wanna live you'll listen to me. Dialysis is bitter sweet.
I'm married to it. Life without parole. The ole ball and chain. I never leave home without it. A blessing and a curse. Can't live with it, can't live without it. The best thing that has ever happened to me,because....I get to live....a little longer.

Show Some Love

If we have love for one another, God and all will know we are one of his.

1. Let someone go ahead of you in line.

2. Find something good in everyone you meet.

3. Smile at strangers, say hello or wave.

4. Validate everyone by calling them by their name.

5. Compliment people on a job well done or if you see something you like.

6. Be grateful to all those who serve you.

7. Always talk nice about everyone.

8. Listen to others....really listen.

9. Check on people who aren't doing well.

10. Pray specific prayers for those in need everyday.

These are just 10 simple things you can do to show love to others. Start a list of your own. I'm sure there are many, many more. Remember God gives us a beautiful sunrise every morning. I think he's trying to say, "LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE"
Have a great 4th of July, Love,love,love....Jodi.......Hi Mike,Unk,Linda,Denny,Tami
